Two by Two Puzzle

This puzzle has an added dimension. You need to work out how it operates. The aim is simply to clear the board of coloured blocks with the puzzle name as a hint. Each puzzle is newly formed so there are no solutions given but an experienced puzzler such as yourself will quickly work it out.
